    Novel Methodology for the Synthesis of p-tert-Butylcalix[8]arene

  • Abstract

    p-tert-Butylcalix[8]arene has been synthesized by condensation of p-tert-butylphenol and formaldehyde using KOH in toluene. The novel methodology produce p-tert-butylcalix[8]arene in high percentage purity. Compound was characterized by spectroscopic techniques such as IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR.
