    Solvent Free Synthesis of Methylthio / Methylsulfonyl Chalcones as Potential Anti-Microbial Agents

  • Abstract

    An attempt was made for a convenient, easy, safer, solvent free and efficient microwave synthesis of a series of methylthio/methylsulfonyl chalcones with potential antibacterial and antifungal activities. Most of prepared compounds showed potential biological activity against different bacterial and fungal strains. The compound 5j and 5k displayed most potent activity against different bacterial and fungal strains.
