    Acoustic, Volumetric and Viscometric Studies of Binary Liquid Mixtures of p-Chloroacetophenone with n-Alkanols at Different Temperatures

  • Abstract

    Density (ρ), speed of sound (u) and viscosity (η) have been measured for the binary liquid mixtures of p-chloroacetophenone with n-propanol, n-butanol, n-pentanol at all temperature range from 303.15 K to 318.15 K. From this experimental data, excess molar volume (vE), deviation in viscosity (Δη), deviation in isentropic compressibility (Δks) and excess Gibbs energy of activation of viscous flow (G*E) have been calculated and fitted to Redlich-Kister polynomial equation. These excess parameters, reveals that there is a strong interaction between the unlike molecules. The analyzed viscosity data of binary liquid mixtures were used to test the Grunberg-Nissan, Katti chaudari and Hind semi-empirical equations.
