    Microwave Assisted Synthesis, Characterization and Antimicrobial Studies of Complexes of Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) with 2-Hydroxynicotinic Acid

  • Abstract

    Synthesis, characterization and biological properties of complexes of 2-hydroxynicotinic acid (H2nicO) with transition metals Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) have been reported by microwave irradiation method. The structure of the compounds has been determined from elemental analysis, magnetic, FT-IR and UV-Visible spectral analysis which was found as octahedral. The ligand and its complexes have been screened in vitro for antimicrobial studies against Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus and Bascillus subtilis bacteria.
