    Comparison of the Basic Strength of Solid Catalysts in the Synthesis of 2-Styrylbenzoxazoles under Microwave, Ultrasonic Irradiations and Solvent Free Conditions

  • Abstract

    Condensation of 2-methyl benzoxazole with aromatic aldehydes was carried out over a number of solid base catalysts under microwave, ultrasonic irradiation and solvent free conditions. NaNH2 supported on alumina in solvent free condition without microwave and ultrasound irradiation presented the most active base for the condensation.
