    Synthesis and Characterization of 3-[4-(1-Acetyl-5-(substitutedphenyl)-4,5-dihydro-pyrazol-3-yl)phenyl]-6,8-dibromo-2-phenylquinazolin-4-one Derivatives and Study of their Antimicrobial Activities

  • Abstract

    Synthesis of new series of 3-[4-(1-acetyl-5-(substitutedphenyl)-4,5-dihydro-pyrazol-3-yl)phenyl]-6,8-dibromo-2-phenylquinazolin-4-one have been ynthesized by acylation of 6,8-dibromo-3-{4-[5-(substitutedphenyl)-4,5-dihydro-pyrazol-3-yl]phenyl}-2-phenylquinazolin-4-one using glycial acetic acid for three hours. The intermediate have been synthesized by refluxation of 6,8-dibromo-3-{4-[3-(substitutedphenyl)prop-2-enoyl]phenyl}-2-phenylquinazolin-4-one (0.01 M) and 99% hydrazine hydrate (0.015 M) by using ethanol (50 mL) as a solvent with various aldehydes. The chemical structures of the newly synthesized acetyl compounds have been confirmed on the basis of elemental analysis and spectral data. Some of the synthesized compounds exhibit significant antibacterial activity and antifungal activity.
