4DescriptionAbstract 1,2-Benzisoxazole derivatives are oxygen, nitrogen containing heterocycles with wide range of synthetic and pharmaceutical applications, and are famous for biological activities. The high therapeutic properties of these heterocycles have encouraged the medicinal chemist to synthesize a large number of chemotherapeutic agents. 1, 2-Benzisoxazole derivatives can be synthesised by variety of methods, but the most popular method involves, the base catalysed cyclization of o- hydroxy ketoximes or its derivatives. This article aims to review the work reported by chemists under different solvent media and under different conditions and their biological activities.
