4DescriptionAbstract Primary, secondary and tertiary alcohols as well as phenols and naphthols were effectively converted into their corresponding trimethylsilyl ethers with hexamethyldisilazane in the presence of cellulose sulfuric acid as a biopolymer-based solid acid catalyst under very mild conditions at room temperature with short reaction times in good to excellent yields.
