4DescriptionAbstract Aldimines and 4-thiazolidinones were synthesized by classical method. Aldimines were prepared by heating equimolar mixture of benzaldehyde/substituted benzaldehyde, crude products were monitored by (TLC) thin layer chromatography on silica gel G-plates and recrystallized from ethanol solvent. 4-thiazolidinones IV(a-e) were prepared by aldimines by dissolving in benzene, in the above solution added equimolar amount of thioglycolic acid and heated for about 15-30 minutes. Formation of obtained crude product was checked on TLC and recrystallized from benzene solvent. Compounds IV(a-e) were synthesized through microwave method which led to higher yields with lesser time.
