4DescriptionAbstract Among the organotin compounds, organotin(IV) carboxylates adapt a fascinating range of structural diversity, including monomer, dimer, tetramer, polymer, oligomer ladder, cyclic and hexameric drums structures. Generally four- and five coordinated complexes are observed in triorganotin(IV) complexes. While diorganotin(IV) complexes displayed a large range of structures, including five, six and seven coordinate geometries with distorted trigonalbipyramidal, octahedral and pentagonal bipyramidal structures. Distannoxanes complexes are also observed in diorganotin(IV) complexes. A comprehensive review, organotin(IV) carboxylates are presented with particular reference to their structural studies as described bycrystallography methods
