4DescriptionAbstract This paper deals with the preparation and characterization of silver ion conducting system composed of (SbI3)x- (Ag2WO4)1-x to identify the superionic conducting compositions. Powder samples of various compositions containing x=0.1, 0.2, 0.3, 0.4 and 0.5 mole fraction respectively were synthesized by rapid melt-quenching method. These samples were characterized using x-ray diffraction (XRD) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) studies. Their electrical transport properties were studied using complex impedance analysis. The realization of the typical ionic conductivity values of 5.7×10-2, 5.5×10-3 and 1.8×10-3 S cm-1 for the compositions (SbI3)0.4 – (AgW04)0.6, (SbI3)0.2 – (Ag2W04)0.8 and (SbI3)0.3 – (Ag2W04)0.7 respectively at room temperature has been discussed in terms of the observed characteristics.
