| 4 | Description | Abstract | Various novel ß-diketones and ß-ketoesters (4a-e) have been prepared by the condensation of 4-methyl sulphonyl benzoyl methylene bromide (2) with ß-diketones and ß-ketoesters (3a-e) in the presence of sodium methoxide in dry toluene. The structure of newly synthesized compounds have been elucidated by elemental analysis, IR, 1H NMR and 13C NMR studies. |
