4DescriptionAbstract A new methodology for estimation of solvatochromic properties of micelles has been proposed. Two environment sensitive emission properties of a single indicator molecule have been used for this purpose. The hydrogen bond donating ability (α) and dipolarity- polarizability (π*) of associated water molecules at the SDS micellar interface has been estimated. The obtained result has been compared to the literature values. Effect of methodology and choice of indicator molecule has also been discussed.
