4DescriptionAbstract Copolymers of 4-methacryloxyacetophenone with methyl methacrylate were prepared in ethyl methyl ketone using benzoyl peroxide as the initiator at 70 oC. They were characterized by elemental analysis, Fourier transform infrared, 1H NMR, 13C NMR and scanning electron microscopy. Cu(II) and Ni(II) chelates of the functionalized copolymer were prepared and characterized by elemental analysis, Fourier transform infrared, scanning electron microscopy and EPR spectra. Thermogravimetric analysis of polymers and metal chelates were performed.
